Dandi March
My thoughts on Dandi March:
Gandhiji wrote a letter to the Viceroy Lord Irwin. He wrote all the unjust laws and said stop it. If not then he will break the salt law. Indian could not make their own salt. They had to buy from British. The British took extra taxes from Indians. Gandhiji organized a march from Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi sea coast to break the salt law. This march was 384 kilometers long. Gandhiji was 61 yrs old but he walked so fast that the people had to run to catch up with him. The British did not stop them as Irwin thought Gandhiji would collapse before they reach. They passed many villages. all the villages were decorated and the group was greeted very nicely. On the way they had to pass the Mahi river. On the arrival Gandhiji picked a lump of salt from the shore. All the people shouted "Gandhi ji ki jai hai". From that day onwards Indians made their own salt. Gandhiji was arrested for this. This was the beginning of civil disobedience movement. Jai Hind!

What are they going to achive by walking from Lal Bagh to Twon hall? How this will improve the roads of Bangalore?
