I am happy in Geniekids!

Submitted by trupti on Thu, 23/10/2008 - 14:52.

Today we had a fun filled day in the jungle class. We did many thigns together and enjoyed playing games. Then we went to watch the Droppy's class practicing for their show tomorrow. One little genie comfortably sat reclining against me to watch the show and caught us all by surprise when she suddenly exclaimed, " I am happy in Geniekids".

Weaning

Submitted by trupti on Mon, 20/10/2008 - 13:18.

Today we started the weaning process in the Spring Group. Trupti Aunty's photo was removed from our poster and Radhika Aunty's photo will now take its place. Today I even spoke to the little ones about going on a long vacation. They were upset for about five minutes but as soon as the activity began, they settled down.

Mouse in a house

Submitted by trupti on Fri, 17/10/2008 - 13:14.

Today we started off the day with a picture of a mouse running out of a house and made many different patterns like waves, zig zag, etc as the mouse ran along on the slate. The mouse happened to be a chalk who while running made interesting patterns on the way. Children loved exploring writing and scribbling like this and we also enjoyed exploring rhyming words like house, mouse, like, bike, pom chum, etc. We sang the song of fire in the mountain without words but with one sound for eg, tire tin the tountain, tun tun tun followed by bire bin ba bountain bun bun bun, and so on and explored the sounds of different letters.

Sounds of silence

Submitted by trupti on Thu, 16/10/2008 - 12:23.

Today we all had super fun being quiet and by ourself. Aunty did not utter a single word throughout the session and many genies tried to follow the same. It was fun to observe how engaged and involved everyone was doing their own thing.
In Droppy's class, we enjoyed a non verbal role play. We drew things on slates and papers, played with each other, Enjoyed observing how a chalk piece slides down a slate, tried to blow chalks from one end to other, etc all without uttering a word. It was fun to see genies wanting to talk but trying hard to be quiet. We even met a new friend in the class who has joined today. Even he enjoyed being quiet and talking with eyes only.

New Aunty

Submitted by trupti on Wed, 15/10/2008 - 12:25.

Today we had a new Aunty in our class. Our friend Pinku introduced us to this Aunty whose name is Radhika Aunty. It was very interesting to see how quickly some of the children adapted and interacted with Radhika Aunty.

Phir se !

Submitted by trupti on Mon, 13/10/2008 - 12:26.

Today all of us were very excited to come back to school after a break. We also met a new friend of ours whose name is Pinku (a joker puppet) and spent time feeling him, giving him high five, hugging him etc. And Pinku also clapped for us when we cleaned the crayons, when we made a train for hands wash, etc.
Then we started a new rhyme today and the genies liked it so much that one of them sponteneously said , "phir se" and we kept singing it over and over.

Good night in school

Submitted by trupti on Fri, 26/09/2008 - 12:24.

Today we all came dresses in our pyjamas and got the pillows and enjoyed putting our beds and enjoyed the story. We spotted the stars and moon on the board and also talked about how and why we need to brush our teeth. Then Aunty sang a song of rock a bye baby and one by one all the genies wanted to be rocked in aunty's arms. We throughly enjoyed the puppet show and the fruit chat too.
A long vacation ahead.....hmmmm...I am going to miss the little ones.
