Today I became the number aunty and went to Dew drops class. We had a fun time sorting out the foam shapes and putting them in different baskets. We matched the colours to the colours of the dresses of some of the genies and sorted them Then we played a game of clapping in which we had to clap saying out the numbers in ascending order and decending order. We also called out the numbers in hindi from 1-10 and 10-1 remembering them from our rhymes.
I could see the ascending levels of energy in children after the fruit break.

Today was the first PCD of this academic year. Parents were very enthusiastic to join in. We started off by making a loooooong train of square and rectangle shaped blocks. Parents were told not to use any other words except for the names of the shapes and it was really interesting to see parents trying hard to avoid giving instructions to kids and only speak in rectangle and squares. We then shared our doubts, queries, etc about the weekday specials and the fun work after which we had our snacks break. We had some tasty circle snacks with coffee with kids who had circles and rectangles in their snacks boxes.
After snacks break we enjoyed spray painting rectangles on paper. Parents too were very involved in the activity with their kids and we were all soon covered with red paint. Some parents even asked if the paint was washable :)
We then went and enjoyed in the sand making sand lassi, sand ice, vehicals in sand etc.

We are all trying to understand going to toilet in the bathroom and everytime we use the bathroom we celebrate by singing su su in the bathroom . Today one little genie sang the song by himself as su su bathoooon. su su bathooooon.
We also made a rhyme about triangle today.

Had fun in snacks time today as one little genie started doing phoo phoo and others caught on.

Today we projected circles of different sizes on the wall using the OHP. We had fun touching and catching the circles on the wall. We also used our hands to make circles in the air.

Today we were all enjoying a game of peek a boo and also recalling our 1,2,1,2,3 dance from yesterday. After we were done with it and got ready to wash hands to go for snacks, one little genie picked up his bag, wore it around his neck instead of on his back and started using it like a drum saying "bom, bom, bom bom" . It was so spontaneous that even our Didi who was helping us to wash hands burst out laughing looking at this little hero.
Today we also had a great time exploring this big machine with light which is called the over head projector. We explored where and how the light comes from, how the shadows are getting projected on the wall, how they can move up and down, whether we can catch them, etc.

Today we had a combined session. We had genies from different classes coming together and having a lot of fun. We explored playing together, taking care of each other, reading stories, writing letters, identifying letters from books.

All of us explored musical instruments. We really enjoyed the sounds of the bell and manjira, etc. We then tried different rhythms with 1,2,etc. Finally we had the song dhoom machale in the rhythm 1,2,1,2,3 and danced on it. We are also now scribbling and trying to write letters and numbers. We have made a new chant for letter P. One straight line and bumpety, letter P..pot.
We are now able to recognise A,M,P,1 and 2.

Today we had a fun session with sounds. We were trying to identify the sounds around us. We also explored how the pitch of the sound changes for example when somebody is upset, the sound can become high pitch. When Aunty gave a small demo, one little genie promptly closed his ears.And when we sing rhymes, our voice is different. We also practiced our "I am good, I am great, I am fantastic" chant in a very enthusiastic voice. The chant is slowly catching on. We also went down to the computer station today and heard different sounds on the computer. All the genies and Aunty had good fun trying to identify what sound was being played and then we even imitated the sounds. We tried to make crying, laughing, screaming, shouting, talking, singing sounds along with cow, sheep, cock, dog and cat sounds.

Today we went to the sand area to explore the rough sand. We explored all kinds of bowls, funnels, scoops, etc. We also wrote and scribbled in sand. Then one little genie came carrying a glass and offerred all of us some refreshing sand lassi. Even our Didi was very amused by the act of serving lassi.
We have made a song to write A and M.
