What is the role of Faculty?

  • Faculty keep material ready before.She may tell directly what is the activity or she may direct towards it.
  • She may keep all the material/ tell story/show samples to initiate the activity.
  • She goes to each child, but she is not disturbing him/her.
  • She is there for safety of children.She is not forcing any child to do/complete any activity, however she can interact/direct towards the activity.
  • If child is showing anything which he made, faculty is praising the work and not the child and vice a versa.

Process

  • Process follows the Khoj Ic design format.Process has roughly stimulation, main activity and reflection.
  • Process allows child to be with own, with peer and with material.Child has full freedom of doing all sorts of things in activity.
  • Some actvities need code setting like Gum codes, color codes,sand codes, clay codes etc.If activity needs any of these codes, it will be reminded before/ during the activity.If a child is not following any code, faculty reminds again or can ask other children what is to be done.
  • Child is clear about his goal, if not faculty interacts with him.
  • Child’s safety is taken care by setting codes, by empowering child, by discussing in circle time.
  • If any child is hurt, first aid is given and parent is informed.
  • After main activity, there is reflection round, in which child reflect back to what he has done in the activity like if the activity is about making storyboard, after completion of it, child talks about pictures in that.
  • clean up done by all together, if faculty finding it tough,play song,count 1 to 10,use different body movements.
