Genie Duniya Magazine

Genie-Duniya is published by Gurus. There are seven suggested contents areas:

1. Word (with meaning / usage examples).
2. Etymology of the word.
3. Grammar teacher - related to the sentence the work is used in.
4. Find the equivalent word in Hindi
5. A poem, a small para, a drawing - something related to the word.
6. (Wondering) Questions which is related to the word.
7. A joke, puzzle, riddle (preferably related to the word)

Children can add any more sections / contents areas:
The Genie Duniya starts with children reading some news item from the newspaper and finding a word that they do not know - but find interesting.

1. Word (with meaning / usage examples). Find the meaning of the word from dictionary, write what you have understood and try to use it in one or two sentences. If possible add a picture - you could draw one or search on the web.
2. Etymology of the word. Further look for the origin of the word - if there is a story behind the word write that two - Here is an example
   solferino
   MEANING: noun: Purplish red color.
   ETYMOLOGY: After Solferino, a village in northern Italy, where the Battle of Solferino was fought on June 24, 1859, resulting in forty thousand casualties in a single day. The color was named so because the dye of this color was discovered shortly after the battle, and supposedly the color represented how the battlefield appeared after the bloodshed.
   The immense suffering Henry Dunant witnessed in the Battle of Solferino inspired him to campaign, which led to the founding of the Red Cross.
   
3. Grammar teacher - Write the sentence from the newspaper where the word has been used. Now use this sentence to teach others any one aspect of grammar. Write few lines about this grammar aspect. You can choose the kind of sentence, the tense of the sentence, the usage of pronouns, prepositions, prefix or suffix, conjunctions, punctuation, etc.
4. Find the equivalent word in Hindi - First try to think of a word or a set of words which are equivalent in hindi. Otherwise take help of www.shabdkosh.com
5. WRITING: A poem, a small para, a small story, a small article - write anything where you either use the word or the content is related to the word. You can even draw!
6. (Wondering) Questions which is related to the word. Write few questions related to the menaing fo the word. These questions are nothing but what you might wonder about.
7. Fun Time: A joke, puzzle, riddle (preferably related to the word) - use web to search for some fun content - preferably but not necessarily related to the word.

The above is typed in google doc and finally published on the website. Make your page interesting by putting some visuals.
