Grandparents day- November-09
DEW DROPS:
We had many grand parents in the sun shine area. They were all sitting on the chair and observing what kids are doing. we sang rhymes with action. we sang few songs because kids took some time adjust to the environment.
We played a game in the class with the kids and grand parents. Aunty was hiding some thing in the dupatta and they have to touch it, feel it and tell what it is. I hide orange, banana, plastic wheels, beads, capsicum etc in the duppata. Grand parents also joined the game.
We had our snacks. Grand parents dint bring the snacks they had the tea and coffee.
Grand parents told they just want to sit and observe. We all discussed what we see when we are going in the train or bus to other places. Some told bike, some told car, some told tree. We used the sand to make the mountains. We used leaves, straw,clay and twigs to decorate it. we used blocks to make the train and building. We all created the train journey scenery. Grand parents were telling the kids to do the train, mountain, trees etc.
PETALS GROUP
Children got excited to sit with grandparent. We enjoyed singing rhymes with action. Children showed then how to sit for meditation and how to sing national anthem.
Children enjoyed drawing, scribbbling and sharing their work with grandparents. One child got upset and was missing her nana, immediately one grandmother made her sit with her. Then Children who's grandparents was not there joined with other grandparent and had fun with them. Children and grandparents were got involved into matching foam shape with printed shape picture.
We enjoyed eating snack and sharing our excitement about grandparents and children's day fun.
Grandparents became kids as of their grandkids and played ringa ringa roses, train game using zinga blocks, sticks. Grandparents were making sound of train and involved completely with the kids. One of the Grandmother and children sang a song "Dadi amma Dadi amma manjao" and other were enjoying listening them. Kids prepared fruit salad mixing different fruits like apple, banana etc and shared with their grandparents. Grandparents enjoyed eating this yummy fruit salad. Towards the end of session kids and grandparents had fun dancing with loads of laughter . They were involved so much that they could not realized that pick card has arrived :)
JUNGLE GROUP
We sang the rhymes in the sunshine area and some grandparents participated in the rhymes
Aunty gave them the chart paper and they planned what to make during the trip on a train journey. Many of them drew mountains, rivers, octopus, houses, trees etc. Then we had fruit party with the children and had fun mixing together
They tried to draw the pictures of their grandparents and told the names to aunty and we wrote down what they call them at home.Some of them made the birthday cards for their grandparents. Then we wrote the daily diet word excitement on the board
Bolossom
Sunshine:
We went to the sunshine area and then we sang rhymes like Dhobhi aya, little finger and watermelon and lollipop . the grandparents where sitting and observing thr kids. The kids were excited to see the grandparents
Activity
we first made train of ourself and danced to the music of train. The Grand parents and some kids became one team and we made a few teams.
Then aunty gave then materials like leaves, twigs, blocks ,sand icecream sticks ,clay to make a their own train and staions, the kids made train and gave it differnt names and told where all it is going. some made rocket and made space ship. the grandparents helped them in arranging the things .
Later the kids made a fruit salad for their grandparents. They went and aksed wheter they want salt or sugar in thier salad and added slat and sugar in the sald and served the grandparents themsleves
Daily special
The kids read book and played wtoys with grandparents. then we all sat down to listen to a story from one of the grandmothers. later the kids came up with thier own story and told the grandparents
