Holi 09

PDF version

Girija Aunty says - Today we had a great time filling different bottles with water. We were initially exploring how to fill the bottles and we were splashing  water on each other. Suddenly we had water coming on us and we saw our Padma aunty and Joyce aunty standing on the terrace and  pouring water on us.

We had circle time discussion how we can play with everybody. Discussed what all we do in holi. We all went together and had fun splashing water all over us ,

Joyce Aunty Says - we were together with another group, we discussed the safety of the holi & how we will play with our team.  we enjoyed the splashing, pouring, spraying,  jumped, danced  etc played with each other & with all different group together.  came back changed & shared our cloths, had sweet and juice.  We explored grating carrot, cucumber, cheese & we tasted enjoyed '.

Holi activity with all the faculty session report http://geniekids.com/activity/colours-0

Padma Aunty Says - We started with playing a game of filling the bottles which was kept one side and the other side with buckets of water, informed children that the bottles and buckets can not move from one place to another, children find many ways to fill the same using paper to carry, hands to carry, towel kept was immersed in the bucket and squeaked in the bottle etc, then we introduced new and fresh water to play with all the funny water guns, children enjoyed pouring water on themselves more than pouring on others first. Then myself and joyce aunty with the help of care takers slowly  went to the next terrace and pour water from the terrace to the children on the down terrace,  children enjoyed the funny rain and asked for more, we had a great time playing in water and then one or two children at a time went to change their dress in each room with one care taker.

Shivani Aunty Says - Yesterday we had fun exploring water and decided to play holi with water. We all planned how we would enjoy holi with water and joined the group at the terrace. Children had a whale of a time splashing, spraying, pouring, feeling water and playing with it..The surprise for all of us was Joyce and Padma Aunty pouring water from above, it was thrilling, children soaking in water and trying to catch it. Many children did not want to go back to their rooms even after it was over. Each of us had got spare clothes to change into, and kids were excited to change into their favorite clothes. We talked about how they felt in dry clothes and how they had enjoyed playing with water. Two little girls  pulled out their towels and were busy drying their hair, just like 'Mamma'. Back in class, one child speculated for a while and asked very assertively- 'where is activity?'
