DEW DROPS:

I asked there are no colors with me how can we make colors, few gave me suggestion to go to kitchen and get the color . One kid asked me to jump on the pumpkin and make orange color. Another kid suggested crushing green leaves and making green color.I gave them three bowls of boiled carrots, beetroot and palak. They involved themselves and were happy to crush and  mix colors to get different color and were eager to use pestle and motor to crush them. Later one of them took the responsibility to take them to ‘danapani ‘area and play holi . All were excited to put color all over their bodies and look like monster, superman, spider man etc.

Then we went down to danna panni area to play holi. As soon as children reached daana panni area they took glasses, bowls, filled the water and enjoyed splashing on each other, some children initially observed then join the group to enjoy playing holi. They played with color water, plane water, some took bath with splashing on themselves. Then we came back to the class and waited for their turn to change the dress with expressing their happiness to others. Then we enjoyed eating carrot halwa which mixed yesterday and Lakshmi aunty helped in cooking ans drinking Milkshake.

PETALS

We did different body action on songs and did meditation and sang national anthem.

Children settled down with slates and mean while one child recalled that we are going to play holi today. Everybody got excited to play holi and discussed about how i am going to play like splash water on my friend, on aunty and if an y child does not want to play will not splash water on them. Then when other group was going to play they got excited to play and came with idea of having snacks early

Children recalled festivals we celebrated in Geniekids like pongal, chirstmas, dussera etc

Children came with solution of making color using spinach and beat root as they saw material then they squeezed , crushed and made color and started applying on each other face.

 JUNGLE CLASS

We took bottles, buckets and bowls to play holi with different colored water. Kids were even playing with the caretakers. Some refused to come and wanted to play for more time. We then had our snack time and gajar ki halwa with a flavored milk . Some children mixed both and tasted the same. The children were so hungry after activity time, that they ate up the beetroot, carrot and greens raw.

We started by reading books with each other. Then we read the five dragons book. Some children pointed their fingers below each letter and read the book. We then explored how we all make the colored water using carrot pieces, beetroot and palak leaves. We used the pounding vessel for crushing the different items. Then we went to dana pani area to play holi. Some kids did not want to play and they sat seperately and watched the excitement.

They were eating quietly and were so hungry as we all ate late

 Blossoms

Aarohi

For holi we started to plan how to create colours as a team from nature, children shared many funny thoughts like taking stone to colour, etc We started with planning how to create different colours from nature, children shared different thoughts like squeezing flowers, fruits etc to make colours, so finally we took some vegetables and children explored different ways of taking colours of of the  beetroot, carrot and palak by scrapping it on floor, with finger pinching the same and dashing the vegetables with cups. Finally we decided too scrap all vegetables or cut them int to small parts, children were counting to see how much time they take to scrap carrot on the carrot.
we cooked the vegetables and tried to squeeze the water through net, cloth etc. we took help of lakshmy auntie as the cooked vegetables was very hot.
Then we planned to make carrot halva as sweet and each child at a time scraped the carrot. were counting who takes more time to scrap , They were analyzing their record also by doing many time, finally children took the scraped carrot to the kitchen and counted the amount of carrot using cups, they added sugar of same amount using the cup and gave the same to laskshmi aunty to cook.
On Holi day all the colours were ready to be used and everyone wanted to start playing immediately. But they thought that colour will get over and they decided to use an empty bucket and mix colour water and plain water. The process was tedious for them and they were eager to start playing , so they decide to pour half bucket water instead of one one mug. Then slowly we started using bottles and started singing holi hai bhai holi hai and enjoyed pouring water on each other. In the class some of them expressed they do not like colour on their face. But while playing they accepted colour water falling on their face and happily enjoyed getting wet and later patiently waited to change their clothes and had the yummy halwa and warm milk.
