Khoj Volunteer

Details of Volunteering In Khoj
    1. Request you to choose two days a week (minimum) as volunteer.
    2. Before you start - please go through the following documentation

    The Volunteerism will be in three stages:

    1. Familiarization
    2. Participation
    3. Co-facilitation

    1. Familiarization
    In the first 5-6 sessions (3 weeks) that you do - you are supposed to quickly familiarize yourself with how khoj works, various elements of khoj and working with children of Khoj
    Every session you will observe you will document,
    - by writing - observations about the activity (in detail) - a format will be given to you for this purpose
    - by camera - whatever the faulty will request you to document
    For doing the above you will also go through the activities and weekly specials - for the day
    - on the web - in detail - in advance. To do this you will use the KHOJ FAC TODO menu and use the view khoj flow link

    2. Participation
    Once you have completely familiarized yourself with KHOj program (in about three weeks time) - you will be given specific responsibilities. The responsibilities could be
    * Task or Learning Activities level (eg: create some rhymes around the theme of the month, or say, document how children are responding to a specific activity etc),
    * class level (eg: strategies to work with code of washing hand)
    * specific child level (help a particular child with specific inputs - say behavioral)
    .
    These responsibilities will be given to you by by the KHOJ (faculty) team.
    For each responsibility you will need to
    * do research and then plan what you will do
    * discuss your plan with one of the faculty
    * implement that with children
    * Modify based on response and feedback

    3. Co-facilitation
    You will start taking sessions  with the faculty and may even step in if any faculty is absent.
    This stage will lead to you being absorbed as part of the KHOJ team - as and when such an opportunity arises. (we are definitely looking for faculty from May-June 2009)

    Timings 9:30 to 12 (you may stay back after 12 to discuss some stuff with the faculty). Documentation can be done either from geniekids computers or from your home
