New Aarohi Campus - 2010
Current Plan (till we change it :-) [updated 5th Apr 2011]
We run TWO campuses
i-campus - Indiranagar Campus (current building) for YOUNGER children (khoj + aarohi from 5.5 to 8 / 9 years)
k-campus - set up the new campus at the recently donated 5 acre site near kelamangalam (near hosur click here to see location map) and run k-Campus primarily for children 9 (till 10th std) and above
So the i-campus (GK@indirinagar) is like the junior or primary (city) campus while the Kelamangalam campus is the more elaborate off-city campus for middle and secondary years and also for the live-in parents (so any child 2+ years can join at k-campus)
K-campus to be operational in a progressive manner from Oct 2011 or so onwards.
The k-campus to have a final capacity of about 70 children (max 100)
The key reasons to set up the "big" hosur campus are:
1. Children need more space
2. Children need more children
3. Children need more resources (like a carpentry workshop or a music room which is not feasible in the current building - because of reason 1)
City campus for younger (less than 9 years) children - as parents may not want kids to commute so much or may not be comfortable staying alternate days (CFL model).
while once children are bigger parents might be more open to either travel every day or shifting near to big campus or alternate day travel, etc - many options possible.
We see a BIG OPPORTUNITY in LEARNING - Involve Children in building New Aarohi:
- In Research visit other school, browse net, read, meet people, etc
- In Designing get children to ideate, create
- In Actual Construction get children to plan, supervise, execute
