It was special day for all of us at Geniekids. We brainstormed - What SPORTS/ Games. Two criteria

  1. It should be Geniekids style - no competition, no show off, no pushing the child into any game
  2. kids and parent ENJOY together".

So we came up with play stations on our good old MI style


  1. Make your own animal - Nature Genie In the dhana pani we had a nature game for parents and children by being different animals or birds to collect parts of any animal picture and children joined the three sets they collected from their parents to design a new animal of their choice. children enjoyed colouring and using gum to stick, parents were trying to explore theater skills through being an animal- Padma Aunty
  2. Create your own drawing -Visual Genie- In the sunshine plays station we had organized for chart paper and crayons. Where child had to go and pick 5 crayons and give it to their parents. Parents had to connect the crayon colour to any object of the same colour and draw. When one child gave her father a blue colour her father was anxiously looking at the clouds for the child to say blue clouds, but our genie looked at her father wearing blue short and told him blue shirt, and the father started drawing the shirt with his toes as the constraint was you need to use any other body part other than the fingers. Some of them were thinking how to do can we do etc, but got into the mode quickly and were drawing using the lips, elbows and toes. One genie kept reminding his mom not to put crayons in her mouth. Children enjoyed getting the crayons and telling their parents what to draw and parents enjoyed drawing with the constraints. As one mom said nothing comes straight in Genie kids. Overall I enjoyed seeing parents drawing and laughing and admiring their own painting. Would like to thank Bindu Aunty for helping me organize and man the play station with loads of laughter. - Girija Aunty
  3. Hurdles Stall :- Kinesthetic (Body) Genie : In our class the centre of attention was pranay's sister who was all over our place trying to make friends with others. During meditation Pranay told me that aunty , my sister did standing meditation today. Pranay was explaining patiently how his sister's name has to be pronounced when someone asked him. Well initially I was totally at a loss how to go about the game and the sequence but thanks to ratnesh uncle, girija and gayathri for helping out in the structure. Gayathri was all enthu in making the sample balls, roping her ttt friends to cut paper and even the mothers in my class were busy preparing for our game. The sports circling around with the parents and kids in the sunshine area with music by asawari , ratnesh uncle and padma aunty  were an appetizer for the action to follow. Aditi aunty was unassuming clicking away snaps without us noticing the same.Thanks for the didis who helps us setup the tyres and hurdles. The game started off with the papas and mamas making a ball for themselves and then the parents standing behind the basket to catch the ball, they put ball into their basket and walked to the finish line by balancing the same on their heads. The child threw the ball into the special holes and patiently waited for their parents to catch it. They then jumped over the tyre, jumped into the carton and jumped out of it and rolled the tyre to the finish line.  Initially all the children wanted to stay in the sand area and explore the hurdles. Both me and Gayathri were looking like Laurel and Hardy trying to mind the kids and hurdles from being moved away from their place.Then aruna aunty was in action and helped me in clearing up the children and parents from the area. There were enthu mamas pleading their kids to throw into the holes, some kids threw too fast for the parents to catch, in the process they did little cheating and carried on the game. There was even one grandpa who balanced the ball in the basket till the end. Well it was an enjoyable day for all of us. Meera Aunty

Pass the Ball Trough Tunnel - Team Play (Interpersonal)  - In the blossoms class we had the Game of Passing the ball trough tunnel where the kids and parent form a team  to stand in line and then passed the ball under to the next person till the ball reach  the last person after that the last person comes first and the first person goes to second place the game will get over when they are in their original place again.
    Parents and children participated made a team of 4 , 5 , 6 and we also had two teams, Energetic Bhuvana Helped  in putting the tracks in the class, and explaining the rules to the participant, we was also acting as a timer with a sand clock when we had only one team playing the game. e kids were running to get the ball sometime and get into their position. The kids were very participative and was running along with the ball to get back to the position and were cheering their other team members to pass the ball fastly so that they finish before the time or before the other team does, the parents also enjoyed a lot and was cheering the kids to pass the ball to the team members. some wanted to play two three rounds of the game before they said bye to us - Suchithra Aunty

  5. Rhymes stall:-Musical Genie: Kids and parents were excited as they entered the class. Kids were asking where are the games and what are we playing. We sang rhymes just to settle down the kids.We marched and went  around the sun shine area and put the small paper torches in the big paper torches.We stuck the rhymes print out on the wall and kept the pictures in different areas. Rupangi helped me to set up the stall. She also took incharge of the stall when i took the kids around the geniekids.As the parents came to the class they choose the rhymes and sang the rhymes. The kids went around the class and found the related rhyme picture and brought and gave it to the parents. Some parents din't knew how to sing the rhymes, kids were telling them how to sing the rhymes. some parents were doing actions while singing the rhymes. One parent was singing incy wincy makada and the kid brought sun and cloud with rain pictures and parent was telling dont bring this bring spider and kid told rain and sun is also there in the rhyme. Many parents sang water melon and little peter rabbit song. Lastly i want to thank the Aditi, Ratnesh, Girija,Laxmi aunty, Rupangi and all who helped to make the sports day a successful event.-Veena Aunty

  6. Ring toss game :- Logical genie- The different things like bat and ball, animals, vehicle etc  made up of clay and kept at one place and boundary line is drew at certain distance. Children stood at boundary and in three chances they tried to achieve the goal by tossing ring to the goal, till that time parents made one of things from the list using  the clay as replacements of the achieved goal or to take it home. Children enjoyed playing game and had played 2 to 3 rounds. Thanks to Pavana aunty for  helping me to conduct the game, and thanks a lot to Lakshmi aunty for making beautiful colorful creatures out of the clay. Thanks to all team members for helping me to make this game enjoyable. - Anjali aunty.

  7. Amsaveni aunty:-I was Santa clause on that day of pcs.This day was the wonderful expreience to me.I worn the red & white  santa dress,went each classes issued the gift with chocolates.When the "jingle bell" song started, everybody was waiting for the santa, first i went to Aarohi class on the way khoj classes welcomed me. When  i went to Aarohi class,kids are excited to see the santa with bells.They happily received the gift and one kid wanted to touch my dresses & the bells.When i went to khoj classes kids are excited to saw the santa's stomach.Few kids were sacred to see me with a santa dress.Parents asked gift for themselves also.Parents and kids were happily shacked their hands with santa.One kid said he don't like santa,so he didn't wanted to receive his gift from santa, finally his parent received. I would like to thank Aditi & Ratnesh who gave me the chance to interact with team once again & thank all the team members. Waiting for more fun with children.

AS LONG AS WE CAN PLAY ALONG
WE WILL ENJOY SCREAM SHOUT
