Participant Speaks
Anjali Mehta 13ttt says: The session brought awareness to how we usually unconsciously respond to certain behaviours vis-a-vis how we want to be responded to, more so in case of children (due to adult ego). We also understood that one of the reasons of such responses is the way we perceive certain feelings and the fact that we ourselves don’t acknowledge our own feelings. The process of identifying and acknowledging feelings builds the trust in any relationship, not just with children. It creates the required connection so that the other person/child feels free to talk about his feelings anytime.
Pushpa B.N 12ttt says: The session on feelings was very interesting. It gave me deep understanding of what exactly the child wants at that moment and how different we have been all these years by getting into advisory mode all the time.
Sumana Gururaj 11ttt says: This session about feelings turned me around completly ...I am realy overwhelmed in this direction of thought...I also acknowledged that my practices earlier have never been in this line( acknowledging) and showing empathy...Though i have read about empathy and acknowleding feelings...I was never able to clearly understand what it meant and how to practice it..I think, after this session my cup of glass is completely open and i accept that this new thought is going to change the way i look at things and the way i would handle things...
Ranjani Krishna 10ttt says : The session on feelings was very interesting because, very often that is something where we dont give too much importance, especially when it comes to children. We expect a lot from them, just because we are older and we often ignore their feelings. It was a good learning - "deal with the feeling and the behavior will be dealt with". This would require quite an effort from our end but once we get a good hang of it, it would be much easier
