Republic day

Submitted by girija on Fri, 23 Jan 2009.

We started our PCD with meditation. Moved on to story telling with puppets where parents had one puppet  and child had one. Enthusiastic parents told stories with their children, some of the stories kept changing and mamas were like story is changing. But I enjoyed seeing parents encouraging and accepting their children as the story progressed.  Then we made flags where aunty said we can make flags for us and all got busy making Indian flag when aunty subtly told we can make any flag and we had rainbow flag, train flag etc. We enjoyed our snacks and then played throwing and catching ball game with a little push and pull happening. Dressed ourselves in green, white and orange bands to make head bands, wristbands etc and went to sing and dance. All the groups came together in sunshine and we saw Basabs papa hoisting the flag  and sang the national anthem,  danced to the  tune of  Maa Tujhe Salaam, Saare Jahaan Se acha and Hum honge Kamayyab.

We were together

Submitted by shivani on Fri, 23 Jan 2009.

It was a fun filled day for all of us. We started by playing a game of shopping and buying things to decorate ourselves. children were counting coins and picking up ribbon, color paper, straws etc. Parents were eagerly dressing up their children. After our snacks we went to sunshine room and hoisted the national flag, sang the national anthem and few of our songs. We played more games with letters and books in our class. All mammas and children were involved and left with a smile.
