Phonemic Games

  1. "I Went to the Market" Game - only add things with the same starting sound or ending sound
  2. Rhyme Name Game - words that Rhyme with body parts, room parts, vehicles, etc
  3. Write loads of words on floor - or rough paper and lay them out on the floor - now children get a card with a sound (or a word with that sound) - they try to throw the card at the word and then hop to it without stamping others words - something like that.
  4. Related word chain - make a physical chain of related words all either starting or ending with a set of phonemes. You can make this like a dangler to hang in room - usinf scrap they get from home - tooth paste boxes, pens, envelops - anything.
  5. Play passing the phonome- when you open the parcel (or pick from fish bowl) - you get a picture - you have to say a related word with chosen phone (or rhyming phoneme). When you say that - eery says horray for you - and the game continues
