Preparatory Instructions - Wayanad - Apr 09
Every year as we build programs around different natural locales, we try to make the wilderness accessible to all those who are coming to experience the amazing outdoors! From the remote hills of Mukruthi to the mangrove forests at Wayanad our aim is to soak in the nature and break free from our urban shackles. To truly experience the outdoors in the NATURAL sense, we follow the LESS IS MORE ideology!
To help you follow the ideology, we are sending you a detailed list of things to carry and/or to do. Please remember that we are going there to have new experiences - not the same experiences we have during the rest of the year (in the city). So we don’t need a lot of things from the city, Nature will provide us with tons to do and experience.
Since this is a wilderness OUTDOOR program, keeping the outdoors pollution free is our first aim. Carry less, Dispose Less and Carry everything back with you.
- Please do not call the child or the faculty on the trip. If there is any requirement or in case of emergency we will call you.
- The parent should let the child do their packing independently. Parents just give a copy of this document to the child and then let the child take care of it. Please do not check or interfere in child's packing. Let the child choose which clothes, etc. Parents avoid helping him/her. If he comes to you with a "which one should I take", just give a smiling "you decide" answer.
- Each participant caries only ONE shoulder bag, one which he or she can manage on own.
The things to carry list below is binding – you are not allowed to bring anything other than what is mentioned below. Same with numbers of clothing items – pl do not pack extra. The idea is it to survive beyond the specified limit.
This is also a no distraction trip. No gizmos, No I-pods, no novels or books, no toys, no stationary, nothing else other than the list mentioned below. No camera also – the idea is to just soak yourself in the nature and not keep clicking each other (you can borrow the organizers' camera if you feel a special need to click something).
