Sunshine

Objective - All group comes on one platform and bond with each other.

 

 Start the day with movements through different ways.

 

  Process-

  1. We do our sunshine time from 9:30 to 10:00.
  2. All groups assembled in sunshine area.
  3. We have different themes for sunshine time-Rhyme - Monday , Yoga - Tuesday , Exercise - Wednesday , Dance - Thursday
  4. We play the welcome song for five minutes
  5. Do one round of movements on welcome song according to the theme of the day.
  6. Then we read the printed lyrics of welcome song by sitting in group. Faculty keep the finger on the words written on the page.
  7. We move ahead to do our theme of the day.
  8. TV- We have one place as TV place where children from one group with faculty comes and do the actions, sing, dance according to the theme of the day on TV and others follow, copy their actions.
  9. Rhyme- We sing our familiar rhyme, then rhyme of the day relating to the theme with doing actions for e.g. for shop theme - we sing  lollipop shop.
  10. Yoga- we do different yoga posture through story, song according to the theme of the day.
  11. Exercise- We do exercise through story, music, song, actions, according to the theme.
  12. Dance- We do dance on the instrumental music, songs, in group, or individual, connecting to the theme of the day.
  13. After theme of day the done, we settled down for meditation on blue color mat that called as island, (one Island mat for one group). Then do the meditation on the meditation music (here is link- http://geniekids.com/audiofiles/meditation-4min-silence ) which we play on the music system.After meditation we wind up our sunshine time by singing national anthem.
  14. During meditation One faculty moves around for children safety.
  15. We clean up the place and keep the mats back to place.
  16. After this each group goes to different classes in their chuk chuk gadi with respective class faculty with their files.

 

Faculty role -

  1. Download welcome song in the music system (either in thumb drive, MP3 player, or CD whatever you are using).
  2. Keep material ready in advance, if you are using any during sunshine time. For e.g. props, music for dance, exercise etc
  3. Check condition of hands free mike (batteries, clip etc) .
  4. Check  cleanliness of the sunshine area, and island mat.
  5. Keep printed lyrics of welcome song in welcome song file. Reading welcome song.
  6. Play the song on the system. Check and set the music system, (playing it properly, volume, set the song) before the sunshine time.
  7. Prepare the theme of the day (sunshine theme - rhyme ….) according to activity theme of the day (who, house, cloths etc) (refer IC design- for sunshine time)
  8. Respective class faculty brings the respective class children to sunshine area in chuk chuk gadi.
  9. Play the welcome song, do the action, dance etc according to the theme of the day.
  10. Read lyrics of the song.
  11. TV faculty  and group of children do the actions according to the theme of the day , other faculty will follow it along with children.
  12. One faculty moves around, for the children safety, and to bring children focus on TV. (if children are running, moving around and doing some thing else)
  13. Observe children how are they doing, what are they doing, etc (depending upon your MI of the week)
  14. After this cleaning up the place and taking group to the class after sunshine time.

 

CHILD ROLE-    

              Come on time.

  1. Keep the bag in class and come to sunshine area in chuk chuk gadi.
  2. Too see and touch and feel experience of the different things.
  3. Interact with other class children, other faculty.
  4. They will decide what, when and which steps, action they want to do. Come on the TV and does the action there.
  5. They can follow actions or step  either of TV aunty, or of other faculty or of other children.
  6. Sit with group during reading lyrics of welcome song.
  7. Do the meditation and standing for national anthem.
  8. Clean up the place, and folding the island mats and keep it back.
  9. Make chuk chuk gadi to go to class.
  10. Bigger children can remind small children ,  or can pair with smaller children to do the action.

 Exercise, movements, peer to peer interaction, singing rhyme, songs, vocabulary, actions.

  • How child is learning?

Through seeing others.

Interacting with others, imitating others.

Listening to the welcome song for a week, reading welcome song lyrics.

Doing movements.

Comes on TV and does action for others to follow.

  • How is my child is doing exercise, yoga, singing and dance ?

You can come for an observation.

  • What all songs do you play?

We play songs related to the week activity theme. For e. g. For emotions theme  - sometimes I feel happy.., for Body theme - shake shake, for color- red is amma’s bindi, white is grandpapa..
