For Volunteers of Dream a Dream

Workshop Description:

We want to have this workshop mainly for the Mentors, who take on the role of a friend and a confidant rather than that of a Parent.  Our volunteers are mostly in their 20s. Some newly married but none with kids of their own.

Most of the children they deal with are adolescents who are in or have recently got into relationships. How to talk to these adolescents about their relationships, establishing a platform for sex-ed in their talks of such things without it getting too awkward, etc.

This is what the mentors expressed their interest in learning more about. Maybe it also could be a platform to establish certain ground rules when it comes to adolescents and sex in terms of what to talk and what not to. What the volunteers values are may not be in line with what the community centre or Dream a Dream wants the child to  learn.
