Meera 10 ttt - The list of I CANT, filled up fast and we all had so many things that we wanted to do but had not done. The common cause I saw was the FEAR of failure, which we all recognized and acknowledged. It was like we were celebrating having a dearth of confidence. But like Ratnesh said, if we have no confidence that how can we be CONFIDENT of not having confidence. We were contradicting our own thought process. A mind bender it was to say the least.
Sumanna 11 ttt says BELIEF: I learnt that my experiences and inferences will lead to certain beliefs which become facts for my life. These facts leads to my behaviour... So when we get stuck like a bee(banging the window) ..If we can question or change our belief we can change our behaviour.
Pushpa 12ttt says : The session onBeliefs was interesting and gave me a understanding of how our beliefs can have an impact on our behavior and also how limiting it can be in assessing/dealing/interacting with others and also how we pass it on to others. It is interesting to see how beliefs are en grained into our personality and how we feel it is real.
Anjali 13ttt says: The session was very intriguing. Sometimes we think we know, and then we realize there is still more to know. That is a wonderful feeling because then you are sure you are learning. The discussion with all batch mates on the beliefs about children brought out different experiences and beliefs. Some of the other parts of the session that were questioning for me were: (a) Positive beliefs can also be limiting because they might put you in guilt and disappointment. (b) It is better to explore our/others behaviour through experiencing rather than having pre-conceived assumptions or generalization. (c) How very subtly and unknowingly we form our beliefs (ladder of inference). (d) It is easier to accept and understand people by looking at the beliefs behind their behaviour. (e) Flexibility in changing beliefs rather than concluding them as facts is important.
