Each child is a born leader. Each child has all the success characteristics like self esteem, confidence, decision making, problem solving skills et al. Its just that in a child's day to day life he or she does not get enough opportunities that expose these qualities. Geniekids brings an intensely enjoyable workshop to give children live experiences, exposures and explorations of these qualities.
Leadership qualities like Planning, Goal Setting, Decision Making, Problem Solving, Team building etc., through activities, case studies, role plays and simulation games for children 9-16 years. Children get experiences to develop Leadership characteristics like Resourcefulness, Responsibility, Adaptability, Initiative, etc.
How the program works:
First of all the program is purely experiential. We cannot each the above characteristics of a leader to the child. In fact even if we knew how to - we don’t need to – because a child experiences all these characteristics anyhow and hence it is best to use these opportunities.

Opportunities often comes shrouded as problems or challenges – and that is what we use.
We either use issues that automatically arise in a session (because of group dynamics) or design simple activities that create such challenges.
Example Activity
We put up a stack of chairs in one corner of the room. Now we tell children that their challenge is to move the stack of chairs to the other end of the room – but without using their hands. They would work as a team and do it.
As you would realize this kind of simple challenge – would lead to a whole lot of experiences – like – initiative, problem solving, creative thinking, planning, communicating, working as a team, resolving conflicts, perseverance, handling unseen problems, coordinating and building consensus and so on.
Typically an activity like this would be followed or interlaced with multiple debriefing sessions.
Projects?
The projects are normally not pre determined – but sprout from amongst the children. An activity, an idea, a discussion, a conflict – all of these have a potential of blooming into a project. The facilitator may see an opportunity to escalate any of these into something that the children work over a series of days – with a bigger vision – that becomes the project.
