My daughter does not like to change her uniform after coming from school.one day i told her that washing machine waiting for her friend and that is dirty uniform.she asked do they talk to each other.
i said yes. and then i said that washing machine is feeling saddy as her friend has not come yet.
and then she got ready to put her dress in washing machine and now a days daily she does that way.
was my approach good enough?
need suggestions

Do they talk?

Submitted by aditi on Sat, 23/08/2008 - 10:44.

The approach is very interesting. But I am not sure about your assurance that "YES washing machine talk". I would have asked the child "what do you think? Let the child discover.

When you assure that becomes reality for the child - while when they discover it is their experience. There is a difference:) TRY

You can ask her "so do you think washing machine is talking to you? What is the machine talking to you or to your dress?
If she says the machine does not talk - do not contradict. If she says yes machine talk and if she goes into her own fantasy - allow her to go :)

For dress wash - you can talk to her 'how she can make sure that her dress is dried and ironed when she goes to school? How and when she would like to put dress for wash?

my daugther asked me do they talk to each other?i answered that dogs also talk but as we are not able to understand what do they talk so the same way we dont understand what r they talking.
later i asked her what do you think what can they talk?she said whatever they might be feeling like to talk they will be talking that.
well, you are corrrect that i had to ask her to discover.
