Why children's library
Get
your child to love reading, work on verbal and language
skills and gain vast knowledge by gifting a library
membership. And the early you start the better for the
child. Geniekids library is all about children, their love
for reading and books, their involvement in the whole
process from choosing, to issuing, to giving review on the
books etc.
You will agree the role that
books play in a child's education and development and the
importance of children falling in love with books and
reading right from a small age.
A library, we
believe, is one of the best ways to inculcate this
love for books because:
* It gives child a very wide
choice of books. Unlike the home personal collection -
this collection is dynamic and hence more inviting for the
child.
* The child is continuously
browsing and choosing books - this decision making gives
child an ownership to the books.
* Since the child gets into
the habit of borrowing books, there is a good chance that
he or she also gets into the habit of reading them.
* Even if the child is not
old enough to read by himself - the library offers a great
sense of involvement with the books.
Keeping in mind the need to
encourage the habit of reading in young children
The Geniekids library is now
stocked and open for children to borrow books right from
2 to 13
years.
we have added about 350 new
books for the age group of 2-4 years (mostly hard board
books)
Also here are some new
(more cost effective ) membership options:
Annual Family
membership: Rs2000/- Take 4 books or (3
books + one CD/ game) for a duration of three
weeks
Annual Bookworm
membership: Rs1200/- Take 3 books for a duration
of two weeks
Annual New-Reader
membership: Rs800/- Take 2 books
for a duration of two weeks
Pl add Rs500/- as
refundable deposit to any of the above
All the above packages ALLOW
you to close the membership prematurely (minimum three
months) and take the fee refund on prorate bases.
We have also come up with some
interesting CORPORATE packages - wherein a company signs
up for membership - then parents of the company only pay
the refundable deposit and we deliver and collect books
from your office (saves travelling time to geniekids). Pl
ask concerned person in your organisation to get in touch
for more details on this option.
Timings:
Timings will be 10am to
6pm; Monday through Saturday. (Sunday holiday)
Late Return:
In case you return books late you need to wait the same numbers of days before you can get next set of books issued. For example if your deadline was 10th and you return on 15th –
i.e. 5 days late – you can get the next book issues – not on 15th but only on 20th. So, while we do not believe in monetary fines (because children will not understand the value of loss) children face the consequence of not retuning by waiting - which they will value!
Lost Resources:
Either you replace the book (preferred)
Or
You pay the cost of replacement
Damaged Resources (or part of a game lost):
If damaged beyond repair then “lost book” clause applies.
Otherwise you pay the cost to the extent of damaged – a decision taken by the Geniekids
It is the responsibility of the child or parent to check the resource (book and specially the kits) before they take one. We on our part will always remind the children to do so.
Cancellation Policy: Our cancellation policy is very member friendly – you can opt out of the membership at any point of time.
Months used will be charges on pro rata basis and balance fee returned. For example if child has used library for 3 months and 20 days that this will be counted as four months and balance eight months fees will be returned.
Refundable deposit will also be returned (however registration fee is one time and is not returnable).
Request to members: We keep adding to our collection of books and games and we rely heavily on references and recommendation of our members. Both children and parents are encouraged to leave their wish list/ recommendations (with a line in support of the resource) so that we can make our collection richer. |
