Dhirendra/Smita Soneji

Smita and Dhirendra Soneji, engineering professors, who moved from the city to the
village in the 80s to live off the land. Here, in an adivasi community, they built their
home, grew food and raised their two children. The Sonejis decided to forego
conventional education preferring, instead, to let their children be "complete individuals".
They found that children learned quickly and easily if the subject was of interest to them.
