Saturday program in two batches: one 3-4 year olds, and another 5-6-7 year Olds

    * and be smart at EXPRESSING these thoughts

Smart genie is about first having smart thoughts and then expressing them smartly. So the program focuses on thinking skills and expression skills

This program focuses on giving children exposure of becoming confident, expressing and building essential skills of communication and to become better thinkers - hence becoming SMARTer.

The program uses Geniekids renowned activity based method fun-learn method which would include usage of  

• Language development - specially expressing through talking with an added emphasis on reading and developing a love for books
• Story telling and story making
• Puppetry
• Theater and body movements
• Art as an expressive medium
• Problem solving
• Reasoning & Decision Making
• Thinking Games based n creativity, analytical and critical thinking, visual and kinesthetic thinking, etc.

So in any activity - first part is to make them THINK (eg imagine a story)
Second part of activity is make them express (eg by acting, talking, making, interview, etc)


Detailed Example  - children make a puppet

Smart Genie - since it a shorter program - foscus only on thinking and expression skills

Program Details:
Two groups one 3-4 yrs and another 5-7 years (both groups max 12 children)

Total 12 sessions over 12 saturdays
Morning 10am to 1pm
Prog dates: (total 12 sessions)
first set of five  sessions: 21th Nov to 19th Dec 2009
next set of seven sessions: 9th Jan to 20th Feb 2010

Fee for the full program of 12 sessions is Rs2400/- per child
(Pl note a child has to be registered for the full 12 session set).

All material will be provided by Geniekids - Child needs to bring some snacks and water bottle only.
 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q1: What kind of activities will my child do?
A:  Activities in all the above programs are primarily based on Thinking and expression skills. All activities are open ended, experiential and give integrated experience to the child. There is NO teaching AT ALL. All activities are loaded with FUN and enjoyment. They will  be based on Stories (creating and telling), music, language, books, puppetry, art, craft, kinesthetic and movement activities, clay, theater & drama, social activities etc.

Q2: Will my child have fun?
A: Surely - Geniekids believes that greatest fun is when children are interested in what they are doing. So while we do not entertain your child, the activities and the process of learning followed by GenieKids is based on child enjoying the whole experience.

Q3: What will my child learn? How will the program help my child?
A: Kindly understand the objectives carefully. These are developmental objectives and hence not result oriented rather the goal here is to give child meaningful experiences which lead to experiential and self learning. Hence, there is no limit to what all a child might learn, from conceptual understanding, procedural learning,  hard skills, thinking skills, social skills, emotional skills and development of confidence, et al.

Q4: How will you assess my child?
A: We do not believe in assessment of children. We only believe in observing a child and then tuning he activities according to a child's interest. Please note under no circumstances is one child's data compared with another child, nor it is revealed to any other child's parent.

Q5: What if my child misses a session?
A: No session is repeated - hence any session missed cannot be brought back or compensated in any which way. However, we feel if once in a while a child misses a session the child should not lose any continuity. However, please note only if child is regular, he or she gets the best out of the program.

Q6: Can I try the program for 1-2 sessions? What if I want to cancel registration in between?
A: After seven years of working with children, parents and teachers, GenieKids has full confidence in its program. Hence, we feel trial is not necessary. However, for some reason if you have to withdraw your child in between, registration amount is refunded pro rata. You need not give the reason for withdrawal, but you will need to inform us a week in advance. We will not be able to refund money for the sessions the child does not come without information to us.

Q7: How do I register?
A: Depending on the venue - Call us and we will tell you the easiest way to register.

Q11: Till when are registrations open?
A: Till there is vacancy in each age group. However, since group size is small and limited, early registration is recommended.
