Teacher Training

Geniekids empowers Teachers through interactive, effective and implementable workshops.

To give you an idea to our large Menu or workshops - here are some starter samples.
Contact us - we will meet you - discuss specific needs of your teachers - thereafter design and implement workshop that would result in rewarding teaching for teachers, enlightening learning for learners.

Sample Topics for Teacher's Workshops

1. Understanding children as humans, learners and achievers
Emotional make up of learners.
Importance of Self esteem and self beliefs in learning.
Importance of feelings and emotions in learning.
Teacher based interaction and the power of influence of a teacher.

2. Using 'Multiple Intelligences' for Active Learning
Deep down we know active learning is the best way to learn. Deep down we know that each child is intelligent. Deep down we want to be creative teachers. But how?
Perhaps using "Multiple Intelligence" as a format to think, design and implement lessons is the panacea, a unequitable resource for the creative teacher. An interactive workshop for teachers to reap the benefits of using the Multiple Intelligence approach:
Experiencing & Understanding Multiple Intelligences.
Understanding its Implications.
How to use Multiple Intelligence in lesson Planning.
Implementing MI lesson plans.

3. Mind Mapping & Graphic Organisers for better Understanding and Retention
Presenting a workshop that offers you Creative techniques that multiply your student's ability to learn and understand by organizing thoughts, identifying key ideas, link themes, and remember more effectively while using both sides of the brain. Techniques like mind mapping and other graphic organisers in day to day studies to make understanding and learning faster and better.
Different types of graphic organisers - where to use what; how do they work.
Using organisers to think better.
Using them to plan lessons, teach topics, review concepts and assess learning.
Helping children learn and use it for faster and better understanding & retention.
Designing own graphic organisers to suit subject needs.
Teaching children to use their own graphic organisers to suit learning style.

4. Discipline in Classroom for Joyful and Effective Teaching
Interactive workshop for effective classroom management - experience the joy of teaching through techniques for:
Soliciting Cooperation.
Disciplining and Alternatives to Punishment that work.
Using them to plan lessons, teach topics, review concepts and assess learning.

5. More effective Teaching through "Learning Styles" and Understanding children's behaviour.
We are all different. We also learn differently. We all have different learning styles. Obviously we learn best through our learning style. Does that mean we teach each child differently? Can we do this in a classroom of thirty children?
Can I do something to nurture each child's unique strengths, talents and potential.
What are Learning Styles?
How do I integrate them in my teaching and classroom?
How do I reach out to every child in the classroom?
How can learning style help in various behavioural issues?

6. Making learning relevant, meaningful and making it lifelong
Understanding thinking skills and how to develop the same.
Using experiential learning for meaningful classroom interactions.
Understanding Integrated as a teaching approach.
Doing activity based learning.

7. How to Make Maths More Meaningful thereby making it easy, exciting and enticing to learn
What Geniekids believes is for more effective maths learning, its not tools and techniques that are more important but that we need to perhaps change our philosophy, beliefs and approach towards math and math learner. Once we change our approach, the tools and techniques will be quite easy to design or to collect from the resources widely available.

Workshops can be conducted on weekdays in the afternoon or on saturdays in the morning. Workshops as be small (1 to 1.5 hrs) or detailed (upto 3 hours)
The duration can be based on topics that you would like to explore.
