I have great respect and gratitude towards Geniekids.
I understand that every creation, not only a child, is unique and there is meaning in it.

A school is only a part of one's life. Every moment is holy and is a wonderful opportunity to learn and express the gratitude towards the PROVIDER. If we do that by loving the provider,ourselves and all others, then we will never find time for anything else, let alone complaining.

Since I enrolled my child at Geniekids, I visited the institution only a few times. But I see the reflection of its activities in my child's cheerfulness, her expressions coming out spontaneously to reflect what she learnt at Geniekids.

After 10ttt session, I try adopting some lessons learnt fm the course. Currently I take carnatic music classes at a music school and at my home. Some methods I have made is 1. Ask them to compose their own notes within the given scale and make them sing
2. Copy the class lessons themselves
3. Give them a chance to correct their singing by questioning where the notes went wrong
4. Give them fishes
5. Relate music to maths and ask them to work out the counts for the talas-this they enjoy

I learnt here more about myself and how i interact with children, i wish you had more topic on respect, the teaching style is very intresting, first when i came here i thought i entered in a new world where i don't know about myself, Ratnesh and Aditi gave me more knowledge about myself. Thank you for your teaching and sharing more information about everything.

I like the informal settings and way of facilitating, creating and experimenting concepts through simple materials, i wcould have gained more if each day presentiaion is given in printed from, initially i thought i will be trained to be a trained but this is diffrent. Diffrent thoughts, process, for many this has given new perceptions keep it up!!

My major one is the associate and disassociate part, second one is every behaviour has a positive intention which i was not aware till i joined the course. I thank Geniekids for giving CD which will be useful because the course should not be more of PC dependent. Appreciation is not solution of answers given to all the qualities, only if that is done our thinking process starts working thank you geniekids.

I think I have gained a lot from the TTT session ( i was from the first batch). I try to use as much as possible during my interaction with both children and adults. I cannot claim success on all accounts but at least I feel I tried my best!

As an outcome of what I learnt I decided to take part in a teachers and principals seminar organised by India International school on 6th September (teachers Day) at which I presented a paper titled " Motivating the reluctant Learner ". Much of what is in the paper I attribute to my learning at Geniekids. Incidentally I also won a cash prize for the paper!!

For the second time during her holidays, my daughter has attended the holiday camp at Genie kids. Though initially i chose this only as a way to engage her while we are away at office, i am quite pleased that she enjoys her sessions very much.
When we had holiday during this week, i told her "Shall we go to wonderla, you don't have to go to genie kids!". She says " can we make it in the afternoon so that i can go to genie kids in the morning!" Thanks very much - Shyama

One of the most important things i have got here was ' all intentions are positve' very profound, all emotions are ok, emphasis things, constraints blossoms creativity... there are loads of things!!
Lots of depth, apprciate the way the assignments are designed, hope we had more discussion session and additional session on drama.

Learnt about understanding the kids, people, think diffrently, design, learning style, learning using bloom's how self esteem can be developed. The style and the process adopted is simply amazing, I am dumbstruck ....I am in total AWE of it. I am sooooo glad that i did this course, the course has highlighted me, emposered me and created a diffrent personality of me, diffrent understanding of learning, teaching, enjoying with my kids and kids around more than i used to.

Learnt about beliefs, understanding, feelings, acceptance, changing the way things work,looking at children with diffrent prespective and understanding them and their behaviour. Session were perfect, especially then session on discipline and maths were excellent. I have achived what i had in mind when i joined the course, the course as a whole is too good, wish i had done it earlier.

Love the informal approach and structuring of the course / topic, not enough time to absorve and experiement. It has impacted my life and my thought process. The positive approach to very topic and learning has created a want in me.... made me a more peaceful person plus ignited a fire in me both at the same time

I enjoyed the way it was done, i would have liked the course to be more long duration, enjoyed it throughly, now i feel a vaccum there. I was very sceptic about this course but i feel many of my windows open, time and money well spent.

The entire 30 session and interactions have been a learning but if i have to pick the disciplene without punishment, all intentions are ok, most importantcy that u don't have to love kids to work with them!
I loved it, we are so conditioned to class room teaching that this was a welcome change!! its managed to make me introspect myself and also changed my mindsets. Geniekids came in at a time when i needed it the most, so in whichever way i can give back i would love to!!

Geniekids has made, is making and am confident that it would continue to make a satisfactory difference in my life. The impact that Geniekids has created in me is, that the name 'Geniekids' has become a permanent fixture in my mind. All the sessions that I have attended in Geniekids as a parent, as a trainee and as a faculty continues to nourish & develop- Awareness & Acceptance in me which makes me stay cool and contented amidst all the hurdles that comes my way day in and day out. I can never forget Ratnesh's teachings on the consequences of creating one's own self image. Circle time is practised at home (my better half, my daughter and I) as and when required, which plays an important role in the better bonding of our relationship. Thanks to Geniekids for it has taught me to handle my teen daughter efficiently(My daughter's friends appreciate the rapport between my daughter and me).

‘World would bloom with genies if there is a genie(genie mom or genie pop or genie child) in every family’.

Really, really appreciate your efforts. Swapna's wide smile each evening when I am there to pick her up speaks of her day at Geniekids. Thanks to all the staff out there. She feels the Science program is beneficial as she has been able to improve her knowledge. Swapna specifically likes - the science program in which facts are read out and visuals shown ; she loves the exposure to experiments (she does these experiments to show us during weekends and we can see the thrill that she gets out of doing it herself. She loved the Story telling class where a TV like cardboard setup was used and a puppet show was done She is so happy whenever she tells us how the story telling class goes each time. She finds the dancing and acting part of Dynamic Genie nice and full of fun. Overall good and very well managed. Appreciate the way the different subjects are spread across the days of the week. The atmosphere in Geniekids is most adored by my daughter. She feels so relaxed and most comfortable. She likes everyone out there.

The session was well conducted. The information was concise but packed with information. Session was delivered in an interesting way. The key learning is that there is no set age barrier for a child to learn about sex education. Like any other type of knowledge, this too can be imparted at any age.
It helped me break my barriers. I used to think that the information is of an adult nature and so could be shared with children slowly as they grow up. But, this notion has been turned on its head. If you treat sex education like any other piece of information, then it becomes easier to deal with sex-related questions from children. - Suchi, Volunteer Dream a dream

An activity club for children where nothing is taught and yet, the child learns best.

Instead of being forced fed with information, child can taste all the resources & develop an interest.

Session was so much of unlearning and understanding parental attitudes, beliefs and filters on sex. Session was also effective in bring out the anxieties that all parents have about how to tell the child about pubertal changes and sex.
Session was very interesting as as there was a lot of clarity in presentation and communication.
The key learning was about the unlearnig and looking freshly about the attitudes that we have about sex.
The specific challenges were definately taken care of. thye session was not only about WHAT TO but also about HOW TO.
Specific learning was there is no right age. My specific worry was is the child pyschologically aready and matured for it? The learning was earlier the better
before child starts forming its own ideas about sex which could be quite distraughted.
The basic requirement is to keep the communication channel going with out any embarrassment.
I have so far not put it into action but intend to do that with the basic anatomy of the human body which we normally do not talk about. I think it will help to naturally move on to the physiology or the functioning - how and why.

I think is the best thing about Geniekids is that Pranay enjoys it - he does not think of it as a place where he "has to" go as part of his daily routine. Some of the changes I have noticed since he started are - he is more social, he believes more in himself - he tries his hand at various things now, he expresses himself much better.

We also feel that this program has not only benefitted Pranay but also us (his parents) - it has introduced us to a different way of looking at our interaction with him and made us reflect upon our own ideas about teaching/parenting. Thank you.

The extensive research that has formed the basis of this program. (And the fact that you share it so openly!!)

- The planning which goes in is amazing. Everything is meticulously done - the system/order that is in place is very good.

- Blog and observations - I know what my son did on a DAILY basis. That is unparalleled!

- How teachers here interact with children creates an open and friendly environment - that's why kids love GenieKids. I like the way issues are handled like how the child is taught what is not acceptable without making him feel not accepted. At the same time other children learn how to deal with a situation which they are uncomfortable in. It's a win-win all around.

- The only thing required from parents is to have fun with children!!

Khoj does things differently from what other preschool programs do. And therein lies the difference. Kudos to all of you for taking pre-schooling to a different level!

Empowering...Enriching...Enabling...Eye-opener :-) Wish all children were lucky enough to have a parent who learnt this course! 

How it helped me:  I used to operate from a very rigid set of beliefs in interacting with children...I believed also that it was a very positive set of beliefs, but this course helped me to develop more flexibility, acceptance and made me approach things with a more open mind which I find is much happier for everyone including myself!

About doing classes online (webclass): 95% of the course went very smoothly...only 5% was affected by technical (network) problems which I'd say is much better than experiencing the whole commuting issue , that is for people in Bangalore. For those in other cities this is the only way of taking this unique course. It is a good learning experience getting to know how e-training is done. You need power backup and a fairly reliable broadband network. Otherwise all the software is easy to use and free to use. The trainers are very patient and helpful! We had fun during the class, lots of offline chats and jokes just like a regular classroom, one good aspect was you could read the transcripts and understand discussions even AFTER the class.

About doing practicals in my city: I have done a summer camp for primary school kids which was well received. I could never have done it without the learnings from OTT and huge amount of help from Geniekids! Am planning to start classes for children from home which meets my requirement of a stay-at-home, parttime at the same time creative job which will include my small kids as well. Also hope to do more courses from GK!

First of all let me congratulate Aditi and Ratnesh for organizing this workshop on effective strategies for discipline during the session. As I was reading the document that has been sent to us on the above subject, there was only one thought that came to my mind . It is my great pleasure and privilege to be part of the great Genie kids family ,the leadership which is doing so much in the field of child development and learning. It was but a natural feeling for me to silently wish that our country had more such learning institutions for children so that we could have given our children a better tomorrow and let them grow into responsible,free and peace loving citizens of a great country.!!!!!! Dear Padma Auntie,
Last week Pranav did not bring his Fun work to Gk, when he asked me about it, I said it was his responsibility. This week he found a gift wrapper from somewhere and brought it to do his Fun work, he cut them and stuck them on his book. Thank you for instilling a sense of commitment in doing their work and also for demanding from them to do things. He is now looking for different things for his Fun work and show and tell, the other day he found a triangular stone on the road and has preserved it for Tuesday :) I'm sure children are really enjoying sharing their thoughts and work in your class, he looks forward to doing so! Also we enjoyed visiting the track records of Pranav.
