Frequently Asked Questions about Train the Trainer Program (classroom version):
Q1: What if I miss a session? How do I make up the
contents?
A1: There are many ways to "making up"
for sessions missed:
1)
The foremost being learning from your colleagues. This whole program is based on
collaborative learning - and much learning happens because every participant
shares their learning with each other. After the session you would get to read
from peers what each one of them learned from the session. You can also ask them
questions in forums.
2)
You could also request one of your colleagues to take you through the session -
we promote the concept of "study buddies".
3)
You would also go through the entire relevant reading, do all the exercises,
experiments and assignments. This would cover a lot of session too.
4)
You can also discuss the session with the faculty. - typically Q & A format.
5)
You can also attend (numbers permitting) the same session with the online batch
or any other program or the next batch of TTT.
Q2: How much of computer knowledge do I need to
attend this course?
A2: Computer knowledge is not a
pre-requisite. However, a willingness to LEARN computers is. If you are willing,
we will provide you with the required help.
Q3: What if I don’t have internet connection?
A3: Having access to computer with
internet is a must. If you do not have one at home – no problem - you can either
use a cyber café or you can freely use computers at Geniekids. For Geniekids
computers, you can stay back after classes or come back to geniekids on the non
class days.
Q4: How much time will I need to spend on a daily
basis? Will there be lot of work/ assignments?
A4: Simply put - the more effort you put
in, the more you get out of the program. On an average, you will need to spend
about 3-4 hours every week to complete your assignments. However, remember each
assignment is “open” and it purely depends on you how much time and effort you
want to put in.
Q5: What kind of jobs can I get? What kind of work
can I do?
A5: Let us answer this question by
telling you how the previous batch participants have used the training. Some
are working with schools as teachers, some have opened their own pre-schools or
their own centers, some are working with NGOs, some are working part time with
various organizations, some are working with geniekids, and finally some are
simply using their learning with their own children.
Q6: Do I get any certificate?
A6: Yes, you do – but – the certificate
in itself does not carry much value or weight. Pl realise that this program is
not designed to get you a certificate – but to give you a deep understanding and
comprehensive learning. This “learning” should get you the kind of job/ work /
start you are looking for. None of the previous participants faced any
difficulty in getting the kind of work they wanted or felt that the certificate
should have more value. All the previous participants however, really valued the
learning from the program.
Q7: Do you provide placement?
A7: While we do not provide any placement
– remember we do not consider this program as a job oriented course – we would
gladly help you with all our guidance and references to help you get the desired
placement.
Q8: Can I work with Geniekids?
A8: Yes, you are always welcome. We
offers many time options – full week, part time, part months, work from home etc
– the options are endless. Once you finish your course, meet us, and we can
together work out something mutually suitable.
Q9: I have a small baby, is there some arrangement
so that I can attend classes?
A9: If you want, you can bring your baby
to the center along with a caregiver of yours. Your baby and your caregiver can
both stay in the premises (in another room) while you attend the class. This way
in class you will be mentally at peace, yet can also attend to the child in case
an exigency arises.
Q10: My child comes back from school before I will
finish my class (by 12pm or so) – how can I attend the class?
A10: First realise that the classes are
only twice a week. So whatever arrangement you need to make - will be required
only for two days a week. You can also get your child dropped to geniekids – and
the child will wait here – till you finish your class – then both can leave
togethe.
Q11: How do we manage school holidays?
A11: We do not have the program during
school holidays? No classes during Christmas or Dushera holidays, or during
common school declared single holidays. So, no problem.
Q12: What if do not find the program suitable for
me?
A12: If you find so within the first few
sessions – we will cancel and refund your full amount.
