YOUNG CHAMPs

3-9 years Monday to Friday,  Starting June-18-2007
Timings 2:30 - 5:30pm, Free Resource Time 1:30 to 2:30  and 5:30 to 6:30
Geniekids brings its huge child development and educational expertise
and offers a week-days after-school comprehensive learning and development program

Each day of the week is a special for YOUNG CHAMPS. Children are exposed to wide choice of activities, educations kits, books, computers, and many resources which you are welcome to visit geniekids and get a preview to. Children learn based on interest, involvement and peer working.

Every Monday: Young Artist
Develop Visual and Spatial intelligence. Use Art, colour Drawing, Clay Craft etc to enhance visual thinking and artistic development.
Objectives: VISUAL: Develop visual thinking and compositional skills - Use it for representation, imagination and invention.
Skills: Develop various skills like Clay, drawing, Painting, Papier mache, mask making, puppetry.
Young Artist Activities
Visual activities, and exercises to develop compositional skills, memory and imaginary drawing, representational diagrams and drawings, graphic and visual representation methods, symbols, maps, flow charts, decision trees, and other forms of visual representation, three dimensional models using clay, cardboard, papier mache and junk material; puppet making, photography, designing, sculpting, etc

Every Tuesday: Young Expressor
Develop Linguistic Intelligence through reading, expressing and writing. Eagerness and motivation to learn, develop proficiency in the language.
Objectives:
Reading: Develop love for reading, books and written material.
Talking: Use of appropriate language and expressions in communicating thoughts, feelings and ideas.
Vocabulary: Build a versatile vocabulary and form of expression.
Writing Make writing relevant, interesting and a comfortable expressive medium.
Young Expressor Activities
Interactive reading, Storytelling, Make and Break own stories. Reading and word games Exploring language and knowledge through newspaper and magazine based activities (like reporting, situations, interviews etc). reading for research and building support for arguments, debating, expressing views etc. Letter writing and feedback and appreciation activities.

Every Wednesday: Young Explorer
Develop Mathematical Intelligence; Analytical & Logical Abilities and a scientific mind. Naturalistic Intelligence.
Objectives:
MATHS: Relate maths to real life, form positive beliefs about maths and enjoy doing maths with ease and confidence.
LOGICAL: Develop a logically thinking mind. Able to plan, strategies and develop analytical and critical thinking skills and their use in real life.
SCIENCE: Develop a scientific attitude, one filled with curiosity, keen observations, experimental testing and inventive abilities. Be sensitive and understanding towards nature
Young Expressor Activities
learning through models, through experimentation - setting, doing and concluding, Scientific observation, science in own life, using scientific equipment (like microscope, magnets) for day to day observation, Visual Science activities, Maths in science through doing, Measurement activities, make and break activities, working with real machines in learning about them, Nature activities, Nature cycle, nature field trips

Every Thursday: Young Leader
Develop Interpersonal, Social and people skills. Enhance and Kinesthetic Intelligence. Acquire leadership qualities.
Objectives:
INTERPERSONAL: Able to relate and interact with other people, develop team skills; Be assertive, and clearly communicative.
LEADERSHIP: Make child experience characteristics of a leader, independent and responsible, still able to work with a team synergistically.
BODILY: Use movement, drama, theater, dance to develop ability to express, poise in our body and finesse in our body language.
Young Leader Activities
Debates, discussions, appreciation rounds, meetings, peer teaching, learning from real life leaders. Group reading and story telling with props and actions. Communication games; Use situations, simulations and representations as a basis to learn how to communicate, cooperate and collaborate to achieve.
Activities: Coordination, trust building, team building, planning and organizing games and exercises. Cooperative problem solving, listening activities, Interviews, team tasks, simulation games, role plays etc. Theater activities like pantomime, shadow puppetry, acting, expressions, movement and dance activities, Brain Gym exercises, Yoga, body games like charades, balancing etc, physical hobbies likes gardening, model making etc.

Every Friday: Young Creator
Develop Creativity as a key thinking skill. Also develop Musical Intelligence. Right and left brain thinking activities.
Objectives:
MUSIC: Develop love for music, sense of notes and rhythm and a openness towards musical instruments.
CREATIVITY: Generate alternatives, develop perspective, open mind and keen problem solving attitude.
Young Exporessor Activities
Explore all kinds of musical instruments, use them in activities and discover Music in a unique way. Guided visualization Using Music for visualizations, meditation and relaxation. Singing, listening to different types of music, using and understanding different instruments, sound effects, recording, mixing and dubbing on music. Musical games, use of music in learning and creativity
Methods to develop more creative mind through visualization, crazilization, open ended games, creating with different materials like colours, clay, junk material, Creativity exercises, activities and projects. problem solving games, magic tricks; 'What if' scenarios, brainstorming and dreaming methods of creative idea generation.

Children will use extensive GenieKids resources like:
Activity Kits
- More than 200 education games and thousands of activities - including (though not limited to) maths, art, clay, sand, social and emotional skills.
Books- Read, tell, research and use all kinds of books from an expansive collection of 3500+ titles.
Computers - Creative use of technology in education using kids software, Internet, CD-ROMs, VCDs, digital camera, scanner and audio-video presentations.
Music & Art Resources: Musical Instruments cassette and CD collection, Art resources like colours, Clay, Craft material and drama props and equipement.
Experimenter's lab: Science explored at its varied best - all kinds of equipment to experiment and investigate concepts related to science and environment.

How will YOUNG CHAMPS benefit my child?
1. Great way to develop knowledge, intelligence and social skills.
2. Makes child independent learner. Develops an inquiring and experimental mind.
3. Helps in furthering understanding of concepts being learned in school.
4. Learning through doing, playing and creating. Look at learning beyond the curriculum.
5. Different age peer to peer interaction leads to unique social development opportunities.

How does YOUNG CHAMPS work?
1. Child can join anytime. Young Champs is an ongoing program.
2. The session is between 2:30 to 5:30. This si conducted by a geniekids facilitator.
3. You can leave the child anytime after 1:30pm and pick the child anytime upto (but not later than) 6:30pm. Children use time before and after the session time under the supervision of a care giver to as FREE RESOURCE time and explore any of the resources available in geniekids or play amongst them.
3. Apart from using all the above resources, the child can rest, sleep, eat or just relax during Free resource time.
4. Parents whenever they want can accompany children too!
5. Your child can come directly from school (via school transport) or come from home. Any operational help the child requires within geniekids will be offered by our staff. Child carries enough lunch or snacks from home. Geniekids ahs a refrigerator which parents can use. However, in emergency, geniekids can arrange for packaged snacks at actual expenses.
6. The Geniekids Center is closed on all govt./ bank holidays and during all long school holidays - like Dushera, Chirstmas, and Summer holidays. Ask for our holiday calendar
